COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Criminology combined with the Bachelor of Cybersecurity requires the completion of 192 credit points, structured across both disciplines to provide an integrated understanding of crime, security, and digital threats. The Criminology component consists of 78 credit points, including 72 credit points of core subjects and 6 credit points of criminology electives. This stream develops a strong foundation in understanding crime, criminal behaviour, justice systems, and the social and legal factors that influence crime and public safety. The Information Technology component includes 48 credit points of core IT subjects, providing essential knowledge in computing fundamentals, systems, and digital technologies that support cybersecurity practice. The Cybersecurity component comprises 60 credit points, including 48 credit points of core cybersecurity subjects and 18 credit points of cybersecurity options, allowing students to specialise in areas such as cyber defence, digital forensics, and security systems. Throughout the program, students engage in applied learning through real-world case studies, industry tools, and practical problem-solving tasks that reflect contemporary challenges in both physical and digital security environments. The curriculum emphasises ethical, legal, and technical dimensions of security, ensuring graduates can analyse and respond to complex threats. This combined degree prepares students for careers in criminology, cybercrime investigation, digital security analysis, law enforcement, intelligence, and risk management across both public and private sectors.
