COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a five-year integrated double degree designed to progressively build expertise in both legal studies and business disciplines. The program typically consists of 15 core law subjects, 8 core business subjects, 1 legal theory subject, 8 business major subjects, and 5 law electives or advanced major subjects, though the exact structure may vary depending on study load, commencement year, and prior learning credits. In the first year, students are introduced to foundational business disciplines such as accounting, economics, marketing, and finance, alongside introductory legal studies that explore the Australian legal system and the role of ethics in justice. In the second year, students deepen their legal understanding through core subjects including contracts, torts, criminal law, and constitutional law, while continuing to develop business knowledge and exploring the social impact of organisations. The third year focuses on specialised business major subjects while expanding legal studies into areas such as commercial, administrative, and international law. In the fourth year, students undertake advanced legal and business coursework, including equity, trusts, and property law, along with a legal theory subject that may explore jurisprudence or specialised legal topics. The final year consolidates learning through remaining core and elective subjects, offering advanced legal options or a cutting-edge Legal Futures and Technology major, preparing graduates for diverse careers in law, business, consultancy, and regulatory environments.
