COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Engineering (Accelerated) (Aerospace Engineering) is structured to provide a balanced mix of advanced technical knowledge, practical engineering application, and professional development over two years of intensive study. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in aerospace fundamentals through core units such as aerospace structures, propulsion, aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and aerospace design, alongside professional engineering subjects in sustainable design and engineering practice. These units develop essential analytical and problem-solving skills required for aerospace systems. In Semester 2, students deepen their understanding of aircraft performance and design while also selecting electives that allow some specialisation within the aerospace field. Year 2 focuses on advanced engineering concepts and applied learning, beginning with system dynamics and control, advanced aerospace structures, and a capstone project or dissertation pathway that integrates research and technical expertise. Students also gain practical industry exposure through professional engineering experience or placement opportunities, strengthening their readiness for real-world aerospace roles. The final semester includes advanced aircraft design analysis, further electives, and completion of a major capstone project or dissertation.
