The Master of Music Studies (Opera Performance) offers a comprehensive and intensive pathway for advanced singers seeking to master the artistic, technical, and professional demands of operatic performance. Comprising 96 credit points, the program is structured around a sequence of advanced core units that progressively develop vocal technique, repertoire knowledge, stagecraft, and language proficiency. Through Advanced Opera Performance Voice units, students refine vocal production, interpretation, and performance skills while building the endurance and versatility required for professional operatic roles. The Advanced Opera Repertoire sequence deepens understanding of diverse operatic works, enabling students to explore stylistic traditions, role preparation, and repertoire selection across different periods and languages. Stage performance units provide practical experience in acting, movement, character development, and ensemble collaboration, helping students become confident and expressive performers. A dedicated focus on diction through Advanced Opera Diction units strengthens pronunciation, linguistic accuracy, and communication skills in key operatic languages, ensuring authentic and compelling interpretations of vocal works.
