COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Diagnostic Radiography is a structured graduate-entry program comprising 96 credit points of core units designed to progressively develop students into competent and registered diagnostic radiographers. In Year 1, Semester 1, students begin with foundational studies including Bio Sciences for Health Professionals, Foundations of Health Care Practice, Medical Radiation Science 1 (Radiography), and Professional Practice Radiography 1, which introduce core knowledge in health sciences, imaging principles, and professional responsibilities. In Semester 2, learning becomes more applied through Clinical Studies Radiography 1 and 2, Simulated and Interprofessional Learning, and Professional Practice Radiography 2, allowing students to integrate theory with early clinical exposure in supervised environments. In Year 2, Semester 1, students advance to more complex imaging and patient care through Medical Radiation Science 2, Advanced Clinical Reasoning in MIS, Clinical Studies Radiography 3, and Professional Practice Radiography 3. Semester 2 focuses on higher-level clinical competence with Clinical Studies Radiography 4, Medical Radiation Science 3, Professional Practice Radiography 4, and Advanced Practice in Medical Imaging Science. Across the program, students progressively build expertise in diagnostic imaging techniques, patient care, radiation safety, and clinical decision-making. Extensive clinical placements and simulated learning ensure graduates are well-prepared for real-world healthcare environments. Overall, the program equips students with the technical, analytical, and professional skills required to support accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care in hospitals and medical imaging centres.
