COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Computer Science (Advanced Entry) is a two-year postgraduate program designed for students with prior computing qualifications who wish to specialise further and advance their expertise in computer science. The course combines core professional subjects, specialised study areas, and project-based learning to develop advanced technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In Year 1, students begin by undertaking a mix of specialist units across two chosen specialisations, foundation units, and electives, allowing flexibility to tailor their learning to career goals. In Semester 2, core subjects such as Professional Practice in IT and Project Management in IT help students develop industry-ready skills in teamwork, communication, and managing complex technology projects. In Year 2, Semester 1 focuses on Understanding IT Innovations along with deeper specialist study, enabling students to explore emerging technologies and advanced computing concepts. Semester 2 is centred around major Project Units, where students apply their knowledge to real-world problems through independent or team-based projects, alongside continued specialist or elective study. Overall, the program blends theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing graduates for advanced roles in software development, data science, IT leadership, and other technology-driven careers.
