COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Clinical Psychology is a structured postgraduate program requiring the completion of 96 credit points, supervised clinical placements, and a research project on an approved topic. The course is designed to develop advanced clinical, research, and professional skills required for registration as a clinical psychologist. In Year 1, Semester 1, students undertake core units including Clinical Skills and Practice, Treatment Across the Lifespan, Assessment Across the Lifespan, and Research, Ethics and Professional Practice, which build foundational competencies in psychological assessment, intervention, and ethical practice. In Semester 2, learning continues with Case and Research Seminars 1, Placement 1, Health and Neuropsychology, and Multiple Discourses in Mental Health, allowing students to integrate theory with initial supervised clinical experience. In Year 2, Semester 1 focuses on advanced training through Case and Research Seminars 2, Research Project 1, External Placement 1, and Placement 2 with Complex Presentations, strengthening both clinical expertise and research capability. Semester 2 includes Case and Research Seminars 3, Research Project 2, External Placement 2, and Advanced Models and Seminars, further consolidating professional competence. Throughout the program, students engage in extensive supervised placements in clinical settings, gaining hands-on experience with diverse client populations.
