COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Wildlife Conservation (Taronga) is a specialised degree designed to train the next generation of wildlife conservationists who can contribute to protecting biodiversity and addressing global environmental challenges. The program develops strong scientific knowledge and practical skills in wildlife conservation, combining theoretical learning with real-world experience. Students are taught by experts from two leading institutions in Australia, the University of Sydney and the Taronga Conservation Society Australia, allowing them to benefit from both academic excellence and hands-on conservation practice. The degree integrates ecology, conservation management, animal science, and veterinary science to give students a broad interdisciplinary understanding of wildlife and ecosystems. Alongside core conservation studies, students choose a cognate major to deepen their expertise in a specific area such as Animal Health, Disease and Welfare, Biology, Environmental Studies, Genetics and Genomics, or Marine Science. This structure allows students to tailor their learning based on their interests and career goals. The program also focuses on developing problem-solving, research, and fieldwork skills needed to address real-world conservation issues.
