COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine is a seven-year integrated program that combines a broad scientific education with comprehensive medical training. During the first three years, students complete the Bachelor of Science component, studying Medical Science, Psychology, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, electives, and major or minor subjects that build a strong foundation in biomedical sciences and human behavior. This interdisciplinary approach develops analytical, scientific, and critical-thinking skills essential for medicine. From the fourth year onward, students transition into the Doctor of Medicine program, where learning is organized around major body systems and clinical disciplines, including cardiovascular sciences, respiratory sciences, musculoskeletal and immunology, endocrinology and nutrition, renal and urology, gastroenterology, sexual health and reproduction, and neurosciences. In the fifth year, students undertake advanced clinical science and research methods training while developing their MD research project. The sixth year focuses on specialist clinical rotations in psychiatry and addiction medicine, child and adolescent health, perinatal and women’s health, and critical care, alongside a 14-week research project. In the final year, students complete a pre-internship program designed to prepare them for professional practice through rotations in medicine, surgery, and general practice. An elective period also provides opportunities to gain experience in different healthcare settings. Graduates emerge with extensive scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, research skills, and practical experience required for a successful medical career.
