COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts is an undergraduate combined degree that provides students with a strong foundation in both the sciences and the humanities, creating a balanced and interdisciplinary educational experience. The program is built around the principles of inquiry, research, and engagement, encouraging students to develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills that are highly valued across many professions. It is designed to prepare graduates for employment in a wide range of fields, as well as for postgraduate study, specialist professional education, and research opportunities. Students are required to complete one major or program from the Bachelor of Science component, including the option of the Psychology program, which is available only through the Science component of this degree. In addition, students complete one major from the Bachelor of Arts and a minor selected from the shared pool, allowing them to combine diverse academic interests and gain expertise across multiple disciplines. The degree also includes access to the Open Learning Environment, which broadens learning beyond traditional subject boundaries. A distinctive feature of the program is the opportunity to undertake internships or placements through FASS3000: Internship, where students gain practical experience with partner organisations. This hands-on learning component enhances employability and professional development, ensuring graduates leave with both academic knowledge and valuable real-world experience applicable to a variety of careers and industries.
