COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours and Bachelor of Science is a combined degree that integrates advanced engineering training with strong scientific foundations to develop highly skilled, research-oriented professionals. The program begins with core units in mathematics, computing, and multidisciplinary project work, which build essential analytical and problem-solving abilities. Students then progress into specialised engineering study within their chosen stream, along with optional specialisations where available. Engineering streams include Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering with Space, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with Space, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering with Space, and Software Engineering. In the final year, students complete an honours thesis in their engineering discipline, allowing them to apply advanced knowledge to independent research or design projects. Throughout the degree, students also participate in the Professional Engagement Program, which includes structured industry experience and engineering work placements. Alongside engineering studies, students complete core Bachelor of Science units and select a major or program from the Science disciplinary pool, which may include disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, or environmental science. Additional Open Learning Environment units and electives further broaden academic development. This combined structure ensures students gain both technical engineering expertise and strong scientific research skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in innovation, research, technology development, environmental solutions, and advanced engineering industries where scientific understanding and engineering capability must work together.
