COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours and Bachelor of Laws is a structured double degree that combines technical engineering education with comprehensive legal training. It is designed to prepare students for careers where engineering practice intersects with law, regulation, policy, and professional governance. The engineering component begins with foundational core units in mathematics, computing, and multidisciplinary project-based learning, followed by specialised stream units and electives within a chosen field such as Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Biomedical, or Environmental Engineering, including some streams with space-focused options. Students also have the opportunity to pursue optional specialisations depending on availability. In the final year of the engineering degree, students complete an honours thesis, demonstrating independent research and technical expertise in their chosen discipline. Throughout the program, students participate in the Professional Engagement Program, which includes professional skills development and engineering work experience in the final year. Concurrently, students begin their legal studies by completing first-year law units, before transitioning fully into the Bachelor of Laws upon successful completion of the engineering requirements. This integrated structure ensures students develop strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills across both disciplines. Graduates are well prepared for diverse career pathways in engineering practice, legal practice, infrastructure development, policy-making, consulting, and regulatory environments, where both technical and legal expertise are highly valued.
