COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours and Bachelor of Commerce is a combined degree that provides students with extensive knowledge in a chosen engineering discipline while building a strong foundation in business and commercial practice. The program develops technical, analytical, and practical skills, enabling students to understand both the engineering and business aspects of innovation, technology, and project development. Students complete core engineering studies in mathematics, computing, and multidisciplinary project work, followed by specialised and elective units within their selected engineering stream. They may also undertake optional specialisations where available. Engineering stream options include Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering with Space, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with Space, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering with Space, and Software Engineering. In the final year, students complete an honours thesis that allows them to apply advanced engineering knowledge to a significant research or design project. Throughout the degree, students participate in the Professional Engagement Program, which includes industry-focused activities and engineering work experience. Alongside engineering studies, students complete Bachelor of Commerce core units and a major from the commerce disciplinary pool, developing expertise in areas such as business, finance, economics, management, or marketing. Additional Open Learning Environment and elective units broaden students’ skills and knowledge. This combination prepares graduates to lead innovative projects, manage technology-driven businesses, and bridge the gap between engineering solutions and commercial success.
