COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours and Bachelor of Arts is a combined degree that allows students to develop professional engineering expertise while pursuing studies in the humanities, social sciences, or languages. Accredited by Engineers Australia and other major engineering institutions, the program provides a strong technical foundation alongside broader analytical and communication skills. Students complete core engineering studies in mathematics, computing, and multidisciplinary project work before progressing to specialised units and electives within their chosen engineering stream. Available streams include Aeronautical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, and Software Engineering, including selected space-focused specialisations. In the final year, students complete an honours thesis and undertake professional engagement activities, including engineering work experience. Alongside engineering studies, students complete the Bachelor of Arts core requirements, a major from the Arts disciplinary pool, Open Learning Environment units, and electives. This interdisciplinary structure combines technical problem-solving with critical thinking, creativity, communication, and cultural understanding, preparing graduates for careers that require both engineering expertise and insight into human, social, and global challenges.
