COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours with Space is a specialised engineering program that focuses on space-related technologies and systems, covering everything from ground operations to the design and development of spacecraft and orbital systems. The program is available to students in the Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering streams, allowing them to combine a strong engineering foundation with advanced space-focused study. Students begin with core units in mathematics and computing, along with multidisciplinary project-based learning that builds problem-solving and design skills. They then complete stream-specific core units and specialist electives in their chosen engineering discipline, with the option to pursue additional specialisations depending on availability. The curriculum also includes elective units drawn from the engineering disciplinary pool or shared university-wide subjects, enabling further academic flexibility. In the final year, students undertake a major honours thesis in their selected engineering stream, allowing them to conduct in-depth research or design work in a space-related field. Throughout the degree, students participate in the Professional Engagement Program, which includes structured industry experience and engineering work placements to develop practical skills and professional readiness. Overall, the program combines theoretical knowledge, technical engineering expertise, and real-world experience to prepare graduates for careers in aerospace, space systems, satellite technology, and advanced engineering industries.
