COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Environmental Engineering) curriculum provides a comprehensive four-year pathway that develops strong foundations in mathematics, engineering science, sustainability, and environmental systems before advancing to specialized environmental engineering applications. In the first year, students build fundamental knowledge through subjects such as Introduction to Environmental Engineering, Engineering Computing, Mathematics, Statics, Chemistry, Conservation of Mass and Energy, and Engineering for a Sustainable Society, while participating in the Professional Engagement Program (PEP). The second year strengthens technical competencies with Heat and Mass Transfer, Engineering Analysis, Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, and a multidisciplinary engineering project. During the third year, students focus on advanced environmental topics including Green Engineering, Water Supply and Management, Fluid Mechanics 2, Air and Noise Engineering, Geoenvironmental Engineering, Hydrology, and Waste Management, alongside interdisciplinary project work. In the final year, students apply their knowledge through major research and design experiences, including Thesis A and B, Environmental Engineering Design, and specialized elective units that allow exploration of individual interests within the discipline. Throughout the degree, the Professional Engagement Program supports career readiness, industry awareness, and professional development. The program equips graduates with the technical expertise and practical skills required to address environmental challenges in water, waste, energy, and sustainable infrastructure sectors.
