COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design (Interaction Design) curriculum provides students with a comprehensive education in designing digital products, services, and user experiences. The course covers core areas such as app design, design thinking, graphic design, information architecture, user-centred design, user experience (UX), creative technology, physical computing, and sound design. These subjects help students understand how people interact with technology and how to create intuitive, engaging, and effective digital solutions. A key feature of the program is its studio-based learning approach, where students develop practical skills through four major design studios focused on user experience design, interaction design, information visualisation, and interactive product design. These studios encourage creative problem-solving, prototyping, testing, and collaborative project work while simulating real-world design environments. In addition to the core design curriculum, students can broaden their expertise by choosing related units from disciplines such as arts and social sciences, business, engineering, computer science, music, and visual arts. This interdisciplinary structure allows students to combine design knowledge with technical, creative, or commercial skills based on their interests and career goals. Throughout the degree, students build a professional portfolio showcasing their design projects and practical experience.
