COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science is a flexible combined degree that allows students to integrate two distinct disciplines, enabling them to pursue their interests while building strong employability across multiple fields. The program is designed for students who want to combine business knowledge with scientific expertise, creating unique skill sets that are highly valued in modern, interdisciplinary industries. Students have the flexibility to choose subject combinations that align with their personal goals and career aspirations, leading to specialised pathways in areas such as analytics, finance, biotechnology, environmental science, and innovation-driven industries. The Commerce component provides a comprehensive understanding of business operations, including strategy, management, accounting, and economics, while also developing essential interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills. The Science component builds strong foundational knowledge in scientific principles and methods, encouraging analytical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills through core and specialised science units. Together, these disciplines offer a unique and well-rounded learning experience. Students complete foundational units in both business and science, along with a major from each disciplinary area. They also select a minor from a shared pool of subjects across other faculties, plus additional units from the Open Learning Environment and electives to meet course requirements. This structure ensures graduates are versatile, adaptable, and well-prepared for careers in both scientific and commercial environments, with strong opportunities in industry, research, and global organisations.
