COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws is a structured five-year double degree that integrates business education with comprehensive legal training. To graduate, students must complete a total of 240 credit points, consisting of 96 credit points from the University of Sydney Business School and 144 credit points from Sydney Law School. In the early years, students study foundational commerce units such as Future of Business, Accounting for Decision Making, Quantitative Business Analysis, and Leading and Influencing in Business, alongside core law subjects including Foundations of Law, Contracts, Criminal Law Process and Research, and Lawyers, Justice and Ethics. As the program progresses, students continue developing their business major while advancing in law through subjects such as Torts, Public Law, Public International Law, and Statutory Interpretation. By Year 4, the focus shifts primarily to core legal studies, including Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Corporations Law, Evidence, Equity, Property and Commercial Law, Land Law, and Civil Dispute Resolution. In the final year, students complete advanced legal studies such as Conflict of Laws, Jurisprudence, and multiple elective law units, allowing for specialization in areas of interest. Throughout the degree, commerce subjects continue alongside law in the earlier years, ensuring students develop strong business, analytical, and legal reasoning skills. This integrated structure prepares graduates for careers in law, corporate practice, finance, consulting, government, and international business environments.
