COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Biomedicine and Health is a 144-credit-point degree that combines biomedical science, public health, healthcare systems, and professional skills to provide a comprehensive understanding of human health and disease. Students complete 108 credit points of core units and 36 credit points of selective units. In the first year, the curriculum focuses on foundational topics including human body systems, genetics, homeostasis, biomolecular science, public and population health, health data analysis, communication skills, cultural safety, and the structure of healthcare systems. In the second year, students build on this foundation through studies of human development and ageing, immunity and inflammation, disease processes, evidence-based healthcare, digital health innovation, and public health practice. The final year emphasizes advanced knowledge of disease diagnosis, treatment approaches, public health interventions, and applied skills in medicine and healthcare. Students can further customise their studies through selective units in areas such as chemistry, mathematics, data science, biochemistry, pharmacology, cancer biology, biomedical data analysis, international health experiences, research projects, and workplace placements. The curriculum combines scientific knowledge, health research, data literacy, and practical experience, enabling students to understand both biological and societal aspects of health.
