COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts and Master of Nursing is a four-year combined degree comprising a total of 192 credit points, evenly divided between 96 credit points in the Bachelor of Arts and 96 credit points in the Master of Nursing. The program is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in the humanities and social sciences while progressively developing professional nursing knowledge and clinical skills. During the first year, students focus entirely on their Bachelor of Arts studies, exploring disciplines that build critical thinking, communication, cultural understanding, and analytical abilities. In the second and third years, students undertake a combination of undergraduate arts units and postgraduate nursing studies, allowing them to integrate broader social perspectives with healthcare knowledge. The fourth and final year is dedicated exclusively to postgraduate nursing education, and students must complete all Bachelor of Arts requirements before progressing to this stage. To graduate, students must complete a 48-credit-point major from the Bachelor of Arts subject areas, at least 6 credit points from the Open Learning Environment, and a minimum of 36 credit points of elective units selected from approved arts, shared pool, or open learning subjects. In addition, students complete 96 credit points of core Master of Nursing units, which provide advanced theoretical and practical training. This integrated structure equips graduates with both broad academic knowledge and professional nursing qualifications, preparing them for diverse and rewarding careers in healthcare.
