COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws is a structured five-year combined degree that integrates humanities study with comprehensive legal education. In the first year, students begin by studying junior Arts units alongside foundational law subjects such as Ngura and the Foundations of Laws and Contracts, building early skills in critical thinking and legal understanding. In Year 2, students continue developing their Arts major through senior units while studying core legal subjects including Criminal Law, Process and Research I and II, and Lawyers, Justice and Ethics. Year 3 further strengthens Arts specialisation alongside key law subjects such as Torts, Public International Law, and Public Law and Statutory Interpretation, allowing students to deepen both disciplinary perspectives. From Year 4 onward, students transition fully into intensive legal study, completing core law units including Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Property and Commercial Law, Evidence, Corporations Law, Equity, Land Law, and Civil Dispute Resolution. In the final year, students undertake advanced legal studies such as Conflict of Laws, Jurisprudence, and multiple law electives that allow for specialisation in areas of interest. Throughout the degree, Arts study develops strong analytical, communication, cultural, and research skills, while Law training builds legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and professional competence. This integrated structure produces graduates who are highly versatile and well prepared for careers in law, policy, government, media, international relations, and other fields requiring strong analytical and legal expertise.
