COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Dalyell Scholars) is a four-year combined degree that allows students to study humanities subjects in depth while also gaining advanced academic training through the Dalyell Scholars program. In the early years, students complete core units in their chosen majors such as Ancient History and English, along with a range of electives including Celtic Studies, Asian Studies, and Linguistics. These years also include Dalyell Scholars units that provide higher-level academic challenges, interdisciplinary learning, and opportunities to engage with complex ideas. As the degree progresses, students focus more on specialised study within their majors while continuing to take additional electives such as language and anthropology, strengthening their analytical and communication skills. The final year is centred on advanced coursework and research-based learning, where students complete advanced study units along with a major project that allows them to apply their knowledge to independent academic work. Throughout the program, students develop strong skills in critical thinking, research, and communication while building deep expertise in humanities disciplines. Overall, this degree prepares graduates for advanced study and careers in fields such as education, research, media, cultural organisations, policy, and international work.
