COURSE CURRICULUM

To graduate from the Master of Information Systems, students must successfully complete 16 units of study. This postgraduate degree combines advanced coursework and research opportunities, allowing students to deepen their expertise in information systems while building upon foundational knowledge. The program equips students with the skills to analyse, design, implement, and manage information systems in complex organisational contexts.The core component consists of four courses that focus on essential knowledge and practical skills. Students study Harnessing Human Capabilities for the Future of Work, which develops leadership, teamwork, and management skills for digital environments. Systems Analysis and Design for IT Professionals teaches students how to evaluate and implement business and technology solutions. Cloud Based Business Systems provides expertise in leveraging cloud computing technologies to enhance organisational performance. The final core course, Advanced Information Systems Project, allows students to apply their learning in a comprehensive project, integrating technical and managerial skills to solve real-world problems.The degree also includes four foundation courses, which provide essential theoretical and analytical skills required for advanced study in information systems. Beyond these, students select one of two pathways, Option A or Option B, which together comprise eight units of specialised study. These options allow students to tailor the program to their career goals, focusing on areas such as digital innovation, IT management, enterprise systems, or strategic technology leadership.Through a combination of core courses, foundation courses, and specialised pathways, the Master of Information Systems prepares graduates to lead and innovate in technology-driven environments.
