COURSE CURRICULUM

To graduate from the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at UniSQ, students must successfully complete 32 units of study, including core courses, an engineering major, and approved selective units. The degree provides a comprehensive foundation in engineering principles while offering opportunities for in-depth study in one of several specialised majors, such as Agricultural, Civil, Computer Systems, Electrical and Electronic, Environmental and Sustainable Resources, Instrumentation Control and Automation, Mechanical, Mechatronic and Robotic, or Power Engineering. Core courses, comprising 10 units, build essential knowledge and skills in engineering theory, problem-solving, project management, and professional practice. The chosen major, consisting of 14 units, allows students to develop technical expertise, practical skills, and industry-relevant competencies within their specialised field. Additionally, 8 units of approved selective courses provide flexibility to explore complementary areas of interest or emerging technologies, enhancing the graduate’s adaptability and innovation capabilities. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, project-based work, and engagement with industry mentors, ensuring that students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Graduates leave with the professional qualifications and practical experience required for diverse engineering careers and are eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as a Graduate Professional Engineer. This structured approach ensures students gain both a strong foundational understanding of engineering and specialised skills aligned with contemporary industry needs and global challenges.
