COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physics program is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in advanced physical principles along with specialised training in a chosen area of physics. The program requires the completion of 32 units, consisting of 8 units of foundational courses and 24 units from a selected field of study in Physics. The foundational courses establish core knowledge in essential areas such as Calculus and Linear Algebra II, Thermodynamics and Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Mechanics I, and Fields in Physics I. These subjects develop a deep understanding of fundamental physical laws and mathematical methods used to describe natural phenomena. Students build strong analytical, theoretical, and problem-solving skills that are essential for advanced study in physics. After completing the foundational component, students undertake 24 units in a Physics field of study, where they explore more specialised and advanced topics in greater depth. This stage of the program allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to complex physical systems and research-based problems. The curriculum integrates mathematical theory, experimental techniques, and computational methods to develop a comprehensive understanding of modern physics. Upon completion, graduates are well prepared for careers in scientific research, academia, engineering, technology, and other fields requiring strong quantitative and analytical expertise, as well as for further postgraduate study in physics or related disciplines.
