COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Physiotherapy program requires students to successfully complete a total of 16 units, comprising 8 units of compulsory core courses and 8 units from a chosen field of study. The core courses provide a strong foundation in advanced physiotherapy practice by developing knowledge and skills in evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, research methods, professional practice, and advanced patient assessment and management. These subjects are designed to strengthen students' ability to evaluate current research, apply best-practice approaches, and deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across a variety of clinical settings. In addition to the core curriculum, students must select one field of study, allowing them to specialise in either musculoskeletal physiotherapy or sports physiotherapy. The chosen field includes advanced coursework focused on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of conditions specific to that area of practice. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical training, and supervised clinical experiences, students gain specialised knowledge and develop advanced clinical competencies. This curriculum structure enables students to build both broad professional capabilities and in-depth expertise in their selected specialty. By integrating core learning with specialised study, the program prepares graduates for advanced clinical roles, enhances evidence-based decision-making, and equips them with the skills required to improve patient outcomes and pursue career opportunities in specialised physiotherapy practice.
