COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Pharmaceutical Industry Practice is a 32-unit program designed to prepare graduates for professional roles across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sectors. The program is structured into two equal components: 16 units of core courses and 16 units of elective courses, allowing students to build both foundational industry knowledge and tailored specialist expertise. The core courses provide a comprehensive grounding in the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, including drug discovery and development, formulation science, manufacturing and quality systems, regulatory affairs, ethics and governance, clinical trials, and pharmacovigilance. These subjects develop a strong understanding of how medicines and medical technologies are designed, tested, approved, and monitored for safety and effectiveness. The elective component allows students to deepen their expertise in targeted areas of interest, such as advanced clinical development, regulatory strategy, biopharmaceutical innovation, medical affairs, or commercial and health economics aspects of the industry. Together, these courses integrate scientific, regulatory, and business perspectives, ensuring graduates understand both the technical and operational dimensions of pharmaceutical practice. The program emphasises applied learning and industry relevance, often incorporating case studies, project-based assessment, and engagement with real-world pharmaceutical challenges.
