COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (Professional) requires completion of 32 units designed to integrate advanced technical expertise, research capability, and professional engineering skills. The program includes 22 units of core courses that provide a strong foundation in materials science, manufacturing processes, mechanics, composites, and engineering leadership, ensuring students develop both theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving abilities relevant to modern industrial systems. In addition, students complete 4 units of research project courses, where they undertake an independent or supervised research project that builds skills in investigation, data analysis, technical reporting, and applied engineering problem-solving in real-world contexts. To broaden expertise, students select 4 to 6 units from advanced undergraduate elective courses, allowing them to deepen knowledge in specialised areas of materials engineering, manufacturing technologies, or related engineering disciplines. A further 0 to 2 units may be taken from postgraduate elective courses to provide additional flexibility and interdisciplinary exposure. The structured combination of coursework and research ensures graduates are well prepared for professional practice in materials development, manufacturing innovation, and engineering design.
