COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Environmental Health Sciences (MEnvHlthSc) is a two-year postgraduate program structured as a 32-unit degree designed to build advanced capability in environmental health risk assessment, management, and policy development. The program consists of 18 units of Core Courses, which provide a strong scientific and professional foundation in areas such as environmental epidemiology, toxicology, environmental health risk analysis, disease prevention, and public health systems. These core studies equip students with the ability to identify, evaluate, and respond to environmental factors that affect human health in both local and global contexts. Students also complete 2 to 8 units of Capstone Courses, where they apply their learning to practical, real-world challenges through a research project or applied professional task, strengthening their analytical, investigative, and communication skills. In addition, 6 to 12 units are taken from Elective Courses, allowing students to specialise in focused areas such as occupational and industrial hygiene, climate change and health, water and sanitation safety, environmental policy, or global health systems. This flexible structure enables students to tailor their studies according to career goals while maintaining a strong core competency in environmental health science. Graduates are prepared for professional roles in public health agencies, environmental protection organisations, research institutions, and policy development bodies.
