COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Chemical Engineering (Professional) requires completion of 32 units, structured to develop advanced technical expertise, research capability, and leadership skills for complex industrial environments. Students undertake 12 units of MChemEng(Prof) Core Courses, which establish a strong foundation in advanced chemical engineering principles, process design, optimisation, and industrial applications. In addition, 4 to 8 units are completed through MChemEng(Prof) Research Project Courses, where students engage in supervised research addressing real-world engineering challenges and developing practical problem-solving skills. The program also includes 0 to 6 units from MChemEng(Prof) Advanced Undergraduate Elective Courses, allowing students to strengthen or broaden their technical background in key engineering topics. A further 6 to 16 units are selected from MChemEng(Prof) Postgraduate Elective Courses, enabling specialization in advanced areas such as process engineering, energy systems, materials engineering, and sustainable industrial technologies. To complement technical expertise with leadership capability, students may also complete 0 to 4 units from MChemEng(Prof) Management Elective Courses, focusing on areas such as project management, engineering leadership, and decision-making in industrial contexts.
