COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Audiology Studies (MAudSt) is a two-year, 32-unit professional program structured to develop advanced clinical, scientific, and professional skills required for practice as an audiologist. In Year 1, students complete 16 units of core coursework across two semesters. Semester 1 includes Clinical Audiology I, Professional Practice in Audiology I, Foundational Audiological Science, and Health Sciences Research Discovery II, providing a strong base in audiological principles, clinical foundations, and research methods. Semester 2 builds on this with Clinical Audiology II, Person and Family-Centred Audiology, Paediatric Audiology I, and Health Sciences Research Evaluation II, emphasising patient-centred care and early exposure to specialised audiology practice. In Year 2, students complete a further 16 units, including advanced clinical and professional training. Semester 1 covers Clinical Audiology III, Professional Practice in Audiology II, and Paediatric Audiology II, while Semester 2 includes Clinical Audiology IV, Professional Practice in Audiology III, and Paediatric Audiology III, ensuring progressive development of clinical competence and expertise. The final 4 units are chosen from advanced options such as Health Sciences Research Advanced Project II, Interprofessional Community Healthcare, or Health Sciences Research Project: Service Development through Action Learning, allowing students to extend research or interdisciplinary skills. Throughout the program, students gain extensive supervised clinical experience, strong theoretical knowledge, and applied research capability. Graduates are fully prepared for professional audiology practice in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare settings, with advanced skills in assessment, rehabilitation, and patient-centred hearing care.
