COURSE CURRICULUM

The two-year Master of Agribusiness (MAgribus) program requires the completion of 32 units and is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in agribusiness management, sustainability, marketing, finance, and research. The curriculum begins with 8 units of foundational courses, including Agribusiness Planning and Management, Sustainable Food Supply Chains, Applied Market Research, and Commodities, Futures and Options, which establish core business and industry competencies. Students then complete 8 units of core courses covering Agrifood Strategy and Competitiveness, Agribusiness Value Chain Management, Agribusiness Investment Project Appraisal, and Agribusiness Marketing, providing a strong understanding of strategic decision-making and commercial operations within the agrifood sector. Students may also undertake an optional Rural Development field of study worth up to 8 units to gain specialised expertise in rural and community development. A significant research component includes Advanced Research Methodologies and additional research project courses, allowing students to develop analytical, technical, and investigative skills through independent research projects. Elective courses offer flexibility to tailor studies according to career interests, with options in accounting, agricultural policy, international agricultural development, sustainable development, climate change, environmental management, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and industry placement. Graduates emerge with a comprehensive understanding of agribusiness systems, leadership capabilities, research expertise, and the practical skills required for managerial, policy, consulting, and research careers in the global agrifood industry.
