COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) dual degree requires completion of 80 units, comprising 32 units from Science and 48 units from Law. The Science component includes 4 units of core courses and either 28 units from a chosen major or 28 units from an extended major. Students must complete at least 10 units at level 3 or higher, ensuring advanced disciplinary depth and strong analytical capability. This structure allows students to specialise in a wide range of scientific disciplines while developing rigorous technical, research, and problem-solving skills. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) component consists of 36 units of core law courses and 12 units from flexible core courses. Core studies provide a comprehensive foundation in key areas of law, including contracts, torts, criminal law, constitutional law, property law, and legal research and reasoning. The flexible component allows students to tailor their studies through elective law courses aligned with their interests and career goals. By combining science and law, the dual degree develops graduates who can navigate both technical scientific environments and complex legal frameworks. This interdisciplinary training prepares students for diverse careers in legal practice, regulatory bodies, science policy, environmental law, intellectual property, research, consulting, and government, equipping them with the skills to address challenges at the intersection of science, technology, and law.
