COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts dual degree requires completion of 64 units, comprising 32 units from Science and 32 units from Arts. The Science component includes 4 units of core courses and either 28 units from a chosen major or 28 units from an extended major. Students must complete at least 10 units at level 3 or higher, ensuring advanced disciplinary depth and academic rigour. This structure enables specialisation in a wide range of scientific fields while building strong analytical, experimental, and research skills. The Arts component consists of either 32 units from two majors or a combination of an extended major and a minor, providing flexibility to explore complementary disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and languages. However, certain restrictions apply to prevent overlap between closely related disciplines. For example, Archaeology, Mathematics, Geography, and Psychology cannot be combined across both degrees when equivalent majors or minors exist in Science and Arts. These rules ensure students gain genuinely interdisciplinary knowledge rather than duplicated study. By combining Science and Arts, the program develops graduates with both technical expertise and critical thinking skills. This prepares them for diverse career pathways in research, policy, education, environmental studies, data analysis, and cultural sectors, while fostering adaptability in a rapidly changing global environment.
