COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Science dual degree requires completion of 64 units, comprising 32 units from Mathematics and 32 units from Science. The Mathematics component includes 12 units of core courses, 16 units from one chosen mathematics major, and 4 units of program electives. This structure builds a strong foundation in advanced mathematical areas such as calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, and mathematical modelling, while allowing students to specialise in a major aligned with their interests and career goals. The program develops advanced analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills that are essential for scientific and data-driven applications. The Bachelor of Science component consists of 2 units of core courses and either 30 units from a science major or 30 units from an extended major. Students must complete at least 10 units at level 3 or higher, ensuring advanced disciplinary depth. This component provides flexibility to specialise in a wide range of scientific fields while developing practical and theoretical knowledge through structured coursework and advanced study. The program note highlights that the Mathematics major in Statistics and Mathematical Data Science cannot be combined with a Science major or minor in Statistics, ensuring distinct disciplinary pathways.
