COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Arts dual degree requires completion of 64 units, comprising 32 units from Mathematics and 32 units from Arts. The Mathematics component includes 12 units of core courses, 16 units from one chosen mathematics major, and 4 units of program electives. This structure provides a strong foundation in advanced mathematical thinking, including topics such as calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, mathematical modelling, and analysis, while allowing students to specialise in an area aligned with their interests. Through the major, students can deepen their expertise in applied or theoretical mathematics, and the elective component offers flexibility to explore complementary or emerging areas of study. The Bachelor of Arts component allows students to complete either two majors or a combination of an extended major and a minor, enabling a broad and flexible education across humanities, social sciences, and languages. This encourages the development of strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills alongside mathematical expertise. By integrating mathematics with the arts, the dual degree produces graduates with both technical proficiency and a broad intellectual perspective. This combination prepares students for diverse career pathways in fields such as data science, finance, education, research, policy analysis, consulting, and other industries where problem-solving and interdisciplinary thinking are highly valued.
