COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Journalism/Bachelor of Arts dual degree requires completion of 64 units, consisting of 32 units from Journalism and 32 units from Arts. The Journalism component includes 24 units of core courses and 8 units of flexible core courses, providing a strong foundation in reporting, media production, storytelling, and communication across multiple platforms. Students develop practical skills in writing, interviewing, multimedia content creation, data journalism, and digital publishing, while also gaining experience with industry-standard tools and workflows. The program prepares students to analyse information critically, craft compelling narratives, and communicate effectively to diverse audiences in an evolving media landscape. The Bachelor of Arts component offers flexibility to complete either two majors or a combination of an extended major and a minor, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Areas of study may include humanities, social sciences, languages, and related disciplines, fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and strong analytical abilities. By combining journalism with arts, the dual degree develops versatile graduates who can think creatively, communicate clearly, and adapt to different professional contexts.
