COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences/Bachelor of Science dual degree requires completion of 64 units, consisting of 32 units from Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences and 32 units from the Bachelor of Science. The Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences component provides a comprehensive grounding in anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, nutrition, exercise science, sport psychology, health promotion, and research. Students undertake core courses such as Anatomical Basis of Human Movement, Physiology for Human Movement Studies, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition Science, Nutrition in the Lifespan, Psychology of Sport, Physical Activity and Health, and Promoting Health through Physical Activity, Exercise and Diet. The program also includes studies in socio-cultural perspectives of sport, First Nations knowledge, contemporary nutrition issues, sport coaching, research skills, and industry placement, ensuring both theoretical understanding and practical application. The Bachelor of Science component consists of 32 units, including 4 units of core courses and either 28 units from a major or 28 units from an extended major, with a requirement that at least 10 units are completed at level 3 or higher. This structure allows students to specialise in a scientific discipline while building strong analytical, technical, and research capabilities. By combining health sciences with broader scientific training, graduates are prepared for diverse careers in health, sport science, research, public health, and science-based industries, equipped to address complex global challenges in health and wellbeing.
