COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences / Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management is a 64-unit dual degree that integrates health science with industry-focused management training in sport, tourism, and events. The program is evenly split, with 32 units in Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences and 32 units in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management, creating a balance between scientific understanding of human health and practical skills in service and event industries. In the Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences component, students study core areas such as anatomy, physiology, biology, psychology of sport and exercise, nutrition science, exercise physiology, health promotion, physical activity management, and research skills, alongside applied learning in sport industry placement and Indigenous perspectives in sport and health. Students also explore topics such as coaching, nutrition across the lifespan, and the relationship between diet, exercise, and wellbeing. The Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management component provides foundational knowledge in service industries, including customer experience, sustainability, marketing, and event design, along with a chosen major for deeper specialisation. Together, the program develops graduates with strong analytical, scientific, and interpersonal skills who can work across sport organisations, health promotion agencies, tourism operators, hospitality businesses, and event management sectors, combining health expertise with leadership and management capability in dynamic global industries.
