COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with the Bachelor of Computer Science, requiring completion of 88 units in total and preparing graduates for careers at the intersection of engineering and computing. The program includes 60 units of engineering study and 28 units of computer science study. In the engineering component, students complete 8 units of core courses that establish foundational knowledge in mathematics, programming, and professional engineering practice. Students then specialise in one engineering discipline—Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering—through 52 units of structured plan options. These courses develop advanced technical expertise in areas such as systems design, infrastructure, energy systems, mechanics, robotics, and applied scientific problem-solving. Certain foundational courses in economics, mathematics, science, and statistics are excluded from credit in specific specialisations to ensure appropriate academic progression and prerequisite alignment. The computer science component consists of 28 units, including 20 units of core courses that build strong foundations in algorithms, programming, and software systems. Students also complete introductory and advanced electives that allow them to specialise in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security, machine learning, or scientific computing. Together, the program equips graduates with a powerful blend of engineering and computing skills, enabling them to solve complex technological problems and pursue careers in software development, engineering design, data-driven industries, and emerging digital technologies.
