COURSE CURRICULUM

This dual degree combines the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with the Bachelor of Commerce, requiring completion of 88 units in total and preparing graduates with both advanced technical engineering expertise and strong commercial and financial knowledge. The program includes 56 units of engineering study and 32 units of commerce study. In the engineering component, students complete 8 units of core courses that establish essential foundations in mathematics, programming, and professional engineering practice. Students then select one engineering specialisation—Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Software Engineering—comprising 48 units of advanced disciplinary study. These courses develop deep technical competence in areas such as systems design, infrastructure, energy, computing, and industrial problem-solving. Certain introductory courses in economics, mathematics, science, and statistics are excluded from credit for specific specialisations to maintain academic progression standards and ensure appropriate prerequisite knowledge. The commerce component consists of 32 units, including 14 units of core courses tailored to engineering-commerce students, covering foundational business disciplines such as accounting, economics, management, and business systems. Students also complete a 16-unit major in a chosen commerce field, along with 2 units of electives for additional specialisation. The program also excludes credit for specific introductory economics courses to ensure coherent progression. Overall, graduates gain a powerful combination of engineering capability and business expertise, preparing them for careers in corporate, technical, and leadership roles across global industries.
