COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Arts program requires students to complete a total of 64 units of study, integrating rigorous economic theory with a broad exploration of humanities and social sciences. The Bachelor of Economics component consists of 32 units and includes 16 units of core courses that establish a strong foundation in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and quantitative economic analysis. These core subjects develop essential analytical and problem-solving skills used to understand markets, policy, and decision-making at both individual and societal levels. Students then either complete 16 units from a chosen economics major or 16 units from flexible core courses, allowing them to specialise in areas such as behavioural economics, public policy, financial economics, international economics, or economic strategy. The Bachelor of Arts component also comprises 32 units and offers flexibility to tailor studies according to individual interests and career goals. Students may complete either two majors from the arts disciplines or one extended major combined with a minor, choosing from fields such as history, politics, sociology, languages, or cultural studies. This structure encourages interdisciplinary thinking and a broader understanding of society and human behaviour.
