COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program requires students to complete a total of 80 units of study, integrating advanced computing knowledge with comprehensive legal education. The Bachelor of Computer Science component comprises 32 units and provides a strong technical foundation through 24 units of core courses covering programming, algorithms, data structures, software engineering, databases, computer systems, and computational problem-solving. Students also complete 2 to 4 units of introductory computer science electives and 4 to 6 units of advanced electives, enabling specialisation in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, programming languages, or scientific computing. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) component consists of 48 units and forms the legal foundation of the degree. It includes 36 units of core law courses that cover essential legal areas such as contracts, criminal law, torts, property law, constitutional law, administrative law, and legal theory. Students also complete 12 units of flexible core law courses, allowing them to explore specialised legal topics aligned with their interests and career goals. This interdisciplinary structure develops strong technical, analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in technology law, cybersecurity regulation, intellectual property, digital governance, software industries, legal consulting, compliance, and leadership roles where expertise in both law and technology is increasingly valuable.
