COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Commerce program requires students to complete a total of 64 units of study, integrating advanced computing expertise with strong commercial and financial knowledge. The Bachelor of Computer Science component consists of 32 units and provides the technical foundation of the degree. Students complete 24 units of core computer science courses covering key topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, software engineering, databases, computer systems, and computational problem-solving. They also undertake 2 to 4 units of introductory computer science electives and 4 to 6 units of advanced electives, allowing them to specialise in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science, or software development. The Bachelor of Commerce component also comprises 32 units and includes 14 units of core commerce courses specifically designed for the Computer Science and Commerce pathway, 16 units from one chosen commerce major, and 2 units of commerce electives. The core courses provide knowledge in areas such as accounting, economics, finance, management, business information systems, and business analytics, while the selected major allows students to develop deeper expertise in a specialised commerce discipline. This interdisciplinary structure equips graduates with both technical and business capabilities, preparing them for careers in fintech, business analytics, cybersecurity, software development, consulting, financial services, and technology-driven leadership roles across global industries.
