COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program requires students to complete a total of 80 units of study, integrating advanced legal education with strong commercial and analytical skills. The Bachelor of Commerce component consists of 32 units, including 14 units of core courses specifically designed for the Commerce/Law pathway, 16 units from one selected commerce major, and 2 units of general electives. The core commerce courses provide essential knowledge in areas such as accounting, economics, business information systems, management, marketing, and organisational behaviour, ensuring students develop a strong foundation in how businesses operate. Students then specialise through a chosen commerce major such as finance, accounting, business analytics, or related disciplines, gaining deeper technical and professional expertise. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) component is the larger part of the program, comprising 48 units. This includes 36 units of core law courses covering key legal areas such as contracts, torts, criminal law, property law, constitutional law, and legal theory, along with 12 units of flexible core law courses that allow students to explore specialised legal topics. This integrated program develops strong analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in law, corporate advisory, finance, consulting, government, and business leadership, where both legal and commercial expertise are highly valued.
