COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Information Technology program requires students to complete a total of 64 units of study, integrating strong business knowledge with advanced technical computing skills. The Bachelor of Commerce component consists of 32 units, including 16 units of core courses and 16 units from one chosen commerce major. The core courses provide a foundation in essential business disciplines such as accounting, economics, management, marketing, business information systems, and statistics, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of how organisations operate and make strategic decisions. The Bachelor of Information Technology component also consists of 32 units and is designed to build deep technical expertise. It includes up to 2 units of foundation courses if required, 22 units of core IT courses covering programming, databases, systems analysis, networking, and software development, 2 units of IT extension courses that develop advanced technical skills, and 6 to 8 units of discipline electives allowing specialisation in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science, or software engineering. This structure ensures students gain both business acumen and technical proficiency, enabling them to bridge the gap between management and technology. Graduates are well prepared for careers in IT consulting, business analysis, systems development, software engineering, and digital transformation across global industries.
