COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management program requires students to complete a total of 64 units of study, designed to develop strong business foundations alongside specialised expertise in the tourism and events industry. The program includes 24 units of core courses that are compulsory for all students, covering essential business and industry areas such as accounting for decision making, business information systems, economics, financial management, business law, management, organisational behaviour, marketing, and key tourism-related subjects including principles of tourism, visitor experience and marketing, sustainability in tourism, hospitality and events, and economics for tourism and events. These core courses ensure students gain a broad understanding of both business operations and the tourism and hospitality sector. In addition, students complete 16 units from a chosen Business Management major such as marketing, international business, human resources, or entrepreneurship, allowing them to specialise in a key business discipline. They also complete 16 units from a Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management major such as hotel and hospitality management or tourism and event management, providing in-depth industry knowledge. The remaining 8 units are general electives, offering flexibility to explore additional areas of interest. Overall, this structure prepares graduates for dynamic careers in business, tourism, hospitality, and events management.
