COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) program requires students to complete a total of 64 units of study, designed to prepare graduates as qualified secondary school teachers in business and economics. The Bachelor of Business Management component consists of 32 units, which includes 16 units of core business courses and 16 units from the Business Economics major. The core courses provide foundational knowledge in essential business areas such as accounting, economics, marketing, law, information systems, and organisational behaviour, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of how businesses operate. The Business Economics major builds deeper expertise in economic theory, market behaviour, and analytical decision-making, which is essential for teaching senior secondary economics. The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) component also comprises 32 units and is structured into three parts: 16 units of core education courses, 8 units of professional year core courses, and 8 units of curriculum studies courses linked to both business and education. The education component focuses on teaching pedagogy, curriculum design, classroom management, and educational psychology, while also providing supervised professional placements in schools. These placements give students hands-on experience in real classroom environments.
