COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Science program requires students to complete a total of 64 units of study, designed to build strong expertise in both biomedical and broader scientific disciplines. The Bachelor of Biomedical Science component accounts for 32 units and is structured to provide a solid foundation in human biology and health sciences. This includes 20 units of core biomedical science courses covering essential areas such as biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, neuroscience, and developmental biology, along with 12 units of program elective courses that allow students to explore specialised biomedical topics based on their interests. The Bachelor of Science component also consists of 32 units and offers flexibility in academic focus. Students complete 4 units of core science courses, followed by either a 28-unit major or a 28-unit extended major in a chosen scientific discipline. These majors may include areas such as chemistry, mathematics, computer science, marine biology, or other science fields. The structure requires that students complete at least 10 units at Level 3 or higher to ensure advanced-level scientific learning and skill development. This dual-degree program integrates biomedical and general science education, enabling students to develop strong analytical, laboratory, and research skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in healthcare, biomedical research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, and postgraduate scientific study.
